You let the people know Domer!
Intelligence and educated are two completely different issues....
Quite a few people in this country are educated and are still extremely stupid. They either cannot or refuse to think for themselves or analyze facts and issues to arrive at logical and obvious conclusions....they are incapable of common reasoning or of using reason in an orderly cogent fashion...many deny reality that is obvious to most others.
Its proven here on JPP on a daily basis.....and you know who you are.
Replies to my post will illustrate my claim....
Put blame where it belongs
ATF decided it could not regulate bump stocks during the Obama administration.
It that time," the NRA wrote in a statement. "The NRA believes that devices designed to allow semiautomatic rifles to function like fully-automatic rifles should be subject to additional regulations."
The ATF and Obama admin. ignored the NRA recommendations.
I think saying they are stupid is probably not the best choice of words...
I do agree that some ppl, to many ppl come to conclusions poorly or perhaps not @ all, they are told what to think & they stick w/ it, regardless of how wrong they are.......
While many ppl that support trump maybe not have as much education as many supporters of hillary~johnson or Stein, I don't think that is necessarily the reason they wholeheartedly support him..........
IMHO they are pissed & feel the current political system has done them wrong, is not looking out for their interests & I would pretty much agree.......
Political Immunization and Political Confessionalism: The United States and Weimar Germany
Walter Dean Burnham
The Journal of Interdisciplinary History
Vol. 3, No. 1 (Summer, 1972), pp. 1-30
Excerpt: “The lower middle class, the small manufacturer, the shopkeeper, the artisan, the peasant – all these fight against the bourgeoisie, to save from extinction their existence as fractions of the middle class. They are therefore not revolutionary but conservative. Nay, more, they are reactionary, for they try to roll back the wheel of history.”
In more neutral language, it can be said of such strata that they are less actors than acted upon by social transformations which threaten without enlightening them; that they are dependent, vulnerable and politically reactive under stress. Lacking a pre-existing political church which explains their plight to them, their instinctive response to dangerously stressful social change is to support those candidates and movements who can most effectively promise them that such change will be stopped.
… The fascist movement corresponds to the political church which emerges to embrace these strata as a refuge. The key activating element appears to be multidimensional stress closely associated with a loss of consensus concerning the legitimacy of existing political structures and their elites. l

"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."
