Default Tancredo got out of serving in Vietnam by claiming mental illness

You can't make this stuff up.

During the vietnam era As a college student, Tom Tancredo was a rabid pro-war enthusiast.

After his student deferments ran out, Tancredo claimed mental illness kept him from serving.

Tom battled depression for nearly a decade before the draft. He was officially diagnosed and took medication for it before he went to college.

How is it that people who think mental illness should be treated more seriously think that it is now just an "excuse".

Thankfully my friend overcame some of those earlier issues he had in his life and became a relatively successful human being.

While I disagree with him on things, he is a decent person who gives an honest account of his life before he was elected. He doesn't flower it with falsity or pretend other than what really happened.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

    ROTFLMAO

After his student deferments ran out...
Bush doubled the debt from 5 trillion to 10 trillion.
    Proving tax cuts work!

Bush asked for and signed for the TARP money.
The Republican senate leader backed Bush on this.

why anyone can be pro vietnam is beyond me. that country had nothing to offer. At least with iraq one could say.. a new base for us, oil futures, currency war.

    Vietnam = nothing
Q: Senator Obama, would you take the same pledge? No tax increases on people under $250,000?

OBAMA: I not only have pledged not to raise their taxes, I've been the first candidate in this race to specifically say I would cut their taxes.

So he is either mentally ill or a chickenhawk? As if I needed another reason to not vote for him. LOL

A true pro rape and pillage viewpoint. How refreshing.

I have some friends too who have had meNtal issues in their pasts and are now fine human beings.

I would never support them for the position of president.

This mans greatest strikes against him is his support of idiotic America HARMING WARS.

I told yall that within a few years the majority of Americans will be rationalizing the Iraq invasion/occupation in the same way.
on that day we will be the USA in name only.

same way we rationalized pushing the Mexicans south, British back to American, and native Americans to reservations.

yet we still became the most powerful country in the world.
