I supported ridding the world of Gaddafi but fully expected a peacekeeping force with a robust mandate to be put in place after he was ousted. I must be missing something then. UN Security Council Resolution 1973 was first proposed by France, Lebanon and the UK. It was spearheaded by Obama, and none of the members voted against it. No matter how hard HRC pushed, she wasn't the sole deciding factor.

The "bad guys" were AQ types like Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) ,and Ansar al-sharia ( part so of the 'rebels' NTC).

This was the same bunch we hired to protect the embassy in Bengazi where Stevens was murdered.

Qaddafi kept them in jail for years,but let them out for a reconcilliation attempt -
and dogs that they are they turned on him in a civil war.
