I like the Sam Houston quote of "do right and risk the consequences". I think if more republicans and conservatives would have done the right thing from the start which is not endorse and support Trump after he got the nomination then many of them wouldn't be so embarrassed and having to defend their support of him today. Many of them endorsed Trump not because it was the right thing to do but because it was the politically safe thing to do at the time. If you do right and risk the consequences then at least you won't have to explain yourself and at least your conscience is clear unlike when you do wrong and then are forced to face the consequences.

Trump's taking steps to see that doesn't happen.
Footage from Donald Trump's appearances on the set of his long-running reality TV show "The Apprentice" remained locked away from public view on Saturday, despite allegations by cast and crew that the Republican presidential nominee frequently used lewd and sexist language while shooting the show.
AP had previously asked "The Apprentice" producer, Burnett, to provide the original "The Apprentice" footage for review earlier this year. Those calls were not returned. On Friday, AP contacted NBC, which broadcast "The Apprentice." The network said it could not legally release any footage and referred calls to the producer, Burnett.

Please quote him supporting a "republican" lie.
Thanks.
Trump is a New York liberal. Always has been. For expediency he became a Republican and then he spoke about borders and millions on the right flocked to him. Then Millions of evangelicals who used to claim character mattered sold that down the river and went all in for Trumpand now they're stuck defending this. Sad state of affairs.

Interesting, and fairly lucid recounting of this candidate.

Of course. But it's a conspicuous absurdity.
Trump wasn't chosen by a few agenda-driven insiders in a smoke-filled room.
Trump was chosen from ~17 candidates.
Not just from the Republican primary voters from one State (that would be quite a conspiracy).
Trump won State after State. MILLIONS of Republicans have chosen him.
Transcendently preposterous!"Trump is a plant for the Left."

"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."
