Exclamation Itsy Biggy Burkini Ban Overturned

France's top administrative court has overturned a town burkini ban amid shock and anger worldwide after some Muslim women were ordered to remove body-concealing garments on French Riviera beaches.

The ruling by the Council of State Friday specifically concerns a ban in the Riviera town of Villeneuve-Loubet, but the binding decision is expected to set a legal precedent for all the 30 or so French resort municipalities that have issued similar decrees.

Lawyers for two human rights groups challenged the legality of the ban to the top court, saying the orders infringe basic freedoms and that mayors have overstepped their powers by telling women what to wear on beaches.

The burqa is already banned in Holland, Belgium and Italy. I would ban it on security grounds as it's far too easy for terrorists to hide suicide belts and bombs under them.

Maybe winter jackets and rain coats should be banned to because you can easily conceal things under them.

Imagine wearing one of those to a Florida beach where the water is in the 80's and the beach is white hot under the sun.
    But they are stylish too!

I am calling reduction ad absurdum on that one. I said burqas which cover the face, there have been many cases where male terrorists have either escaped wearing one or become suicide bombers. I would also ban rucksacks on beaches as well, which the French have actually done on the Cote d'Azur.

Why do they care what they are wearing?? Looks like a micky mouse dive suit.

The only concern I heard was they were afraid they would scare away tourists.........
"There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone," McConnell wrote. "His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable, from attacking Vice President Mike Pence during the riot to praising the criminals after it ended."

Many countries have banned the burqa, it is a symbol of oppression and a potential security issue as well.

The French are odd people anyway, I remember one time where this arsehole started shouting at my youngest son. He had the audacity to go swimming in shorts, he was saying that they weren't allowed. They are apparently unhygienic according to the Frogs. I managed to scrape together a few choice insults along the lines of casse toi, cochon and mange de la merde to him. That really pissed him off!

Muslim society is old-fashioned, and acceptable swimwear for females resembles that acceptable in the UK in the Nineteenth Century, which is the standard result of colonialism. Wonderful how the French will use any excuse to bully anybody. They call that liberty.

Yes, I am surprised those "liberal democracies" have done it..........

It kinda reminds me of the nude beach issues in Italy... @ first they were all happy when the Madonnas & Adonis' showed up but a few years later many of the same folks were demanding the nude beaches be banned as the old & scared up folks started showing up......lol

What was the kid suppose to be wearing??

I read a few weeks ago about some "youths" badgering some in the burkinis & some fights broke out....... They take swimwear pretty seriously in France..

They need to ban ISlam, unless they want more of their citizens getting run down by trucks.

Islamists love killing people in the most atrocious ways. Even the "moderate" muslims in France believe women shouldn't be wearing bikinis at the beach and often harass/assault them.

Great society open borders and multiculturalism has caused in Europe. Coming soon to America thanks to fascist Obama/Shillary.
