ISIS followers murder Christian Priest

Paris (AFP) - France on Thursday identified the second jihadist involved in the brutal killing of an elderly priest, as calls mounted for the prime minister and interior minister to resign after the latest terror attack.

Prosecutors named the assailant as 19-year-old Abdel Malik Petitjean, who was listed in June on France's "Fiche S" system of people posing a potential threat to national security after he tried to reach Syria from Turkey.

Petitjean, whose face was disfigured when he was shot dead by police, had been harder to identify than his accomplice Adel Kermiche, also 19. Investigators confirmed Petitjean's identity after a DNA match with his mother.

The two jihadists pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group in a video made before they stormed a church in the Normandy town of Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray on Tuesday and slit the throat of 86-year-old priest Jacques Hamel at the altar.

I predict most on the left will ignore this because it is not a right winger or a Christian.

If this had been a white Christian, there would be many threads and they would be very long.

This one, probably not one negative comment about ISIL. And trolls will probably create a few copy cat threads about how Christians are supposedly the same as ISIS.

Sadly, I'm not surprised. The far right has a hard on for Muslims and most of the left has a hard on for Christians.

The most important issue other than the Priest's death is the POPE HAS DECLARED THIS IS WAR. About time he got into the fray.

This pope is no John Paull II.

JP would have seen this coming---he knew all about barbaric fascism. This one, Francis, is kind of milquetoast by comparison. I think he fancies himself as a sort of culture warrior in priestly garb.

Those types can only be dragged kicking and screaming into reality.

the pope is an idiot. If he wanted to protect catholic priests from islamics the best thing he could do is resign. If they had someone like him when Islam invaded Europe in the past we would have saudi europa today.

This Pope is as much or more like Christ than any ever.
