Default President Obama: Scalia Made Enormous Contributions to the United States

"Justice Scalia and I had different political orientations and probably would have disagreed on the outcome of certain cases. But there's no doubt that he was a giant on the Supreme Court, helped to shape the legal landscape," Obama said. "It's important, before we rush into the all the politics of this, to take stock of somebody who made enormous contributions to the United States. And we are grateful not only for his service but for his family's service."

    That's Some Contribution, Mr. President!

Dictatorship and the 'war on terror'
    Arbitrary detention and torture
Death penalty, including children and the mentally ill
Repudiating separation of church and state
    Political corruption and bribery
Defending big business and attacking workers’ rights
Bigotry and attacks on civil rights
    Immunity for killer cops

The obsequiousness shown Scalia by the full, establishment spectrum is a warning to the working class: Scalia’s hideous legacy is exalted because the bourgeoisie is preparing to employ police state methods to defend its power and property against an insurgent working class.

Above all else, the ruling elite fears growing social opposition and class struggle.

his idea of Originalism caused SCOTUS to be much more focused on giving real text based, solid Constitutional opinions.

Prior there was "original intent" or "living document" interpretations.
Both relied on either understanding the intent of the Framers ( inherently impossible) -
or in living documents case what the Framers would allow based again on their writings - the Constitution can evolve over time.

Both concepts fly in the face that the TEXT IS THE LAW and anything else is merely speculation.
It tightened up the courts reasoning -rendering much more quality law based decisions, no matter who writes them

But hey -- prove me wrong! Tell us when President Obama actually did something significant for the proletariat, evince.

    Dear evince:

Troop withdrawal from Afghanistan was a campaign promise? Which campaign was that, evince? I honestly don't recall. I think you're going to have trouble making that one stick.

But your point is good, evince. So I ask: since as you note election platforms are for election purposes only, why should the electorate believe what the partisan hacks obviously don't?

Why would we do that, evince?

Oh, and evince. Have you noticed that whereas you denounce me as a traitor, for blindness and now childishness, that I speak to you and others on this forum with nothing but respect?
