    Default Black Friday and materialism

Ive been reading about all the fights breaking out at malls and shopping centers around the country today because all the black friday shopping chaos and it just struck me as good example of what materialism and selfishness does to good people. It doesn't seem to matter if its a TV or shirt or a cooking pot or anything else if there is a discount then someone will actually fight someone else over it even if they don't even really need it. People have died because of it too. The funny thing is that alot of the discounts are either already available before black friday and pretty always continue after black friday as well. I guess I just dont understand how a $200 Tv or $20 pair of jeans is worth fighting for or even hurting someone else for. Ive been trying to think of ways to somehow stop this type of stuff from happening but I think in the end its going to have to be the major retail companies deciding to choose decency and safety over some extra money. I think if your gonna have big discounts then just spread it out over a stretch of time and dont make one day such a big draw for people. Its just not worth it, its just stuff, and I know for me id rather nothing at all for Christmas and still have my family and friends then to get everything I want but know that someone was hurt or even killed for it.

A little history for you. Do you know who changed Thanksgiving to the fourth Thursday of November instead of the last Thursday?

That would be the leftists patriarch Franklin Delano Roosevelt and he did it precisely to spur shopping. So leftists have nobody to blame but a fellow democrat for all of this materialism.

can you imagine the level of violence that would erupt if there were a real national emergency, like an economic crash resulting in a severely limited and restricted food supply?
A sad commentary on we, as a people, and our viewpoint of our freedom can be summed up like this. We have liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans, yet those very people look at Constitutionalists as radical and extreme.................so those liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans must believe that the constitution is radical and extreme.

I didnt really mean to come across as if buying something is materialistic I just meant that alot of the stories you hear about black friday seem to expose the side of many people that seem to value stuff over the safety or courtesy towards others. That they would suspend reason and just basic thoughtfulness to get that TV or something like that and even risk the safety of others for it by shoving and forcibly taking things from the hands of someone else.

many many many many many many many more are kind to each other in those lines.

    its never makes the news.

about 4 % of human beings are sociopaths.

    yeap

out of 100 people you meet 4 will be sociopaths.

    scary huh.

just remember not all sociopaths are evil people .

they are people who just do not feel for others like a normal brained person.

If they are raised with kindness and lessons on how you treat others decently they will likely harm no one.

treat them like dirt as children and guess what you get?

those are fair points and I should probably have mentioned that the majority of the people shopping are good people and arent causing trouble
