    no

the department of homeland security is just the latest step in reducing free speach...along with the usa patriot act

    Hey DQ.

In what ways do you feel they have reduced our free speech?

When a person goes out to a war protest rally and gets clubbed for no reason by the police or the police 'overlook' such actions by war supporters

Restrictions on what can or cannot be published on the net

The right to speak ill of the government or government officials

Perhaps I should not have restricted it to free speech but to various constitutional issues...like the 10th amendment

Adopting an attitude of "I’ll restrain you (as an adult) from doing what someone else thinks that you should not do"

Restrictions on political comment by underage people but near adults (16-17 year olds)

Do you want to be protected from doing what someone else thinks is bad by their religious or moral code

Preventing groups of protestors from getting close enough to the politicians whose actions they disapprove of to hear them

Putting people under surveillance and into databases who publically disagree with the current administration’s positions

    enough for now?

    got to go

Why do you hate America ?
Bush doubled the debt from 5 trillion to 10 trillion.
    Proving tax cuts work!

Bush asked for and signed for the TARP money.
The Republican senate leader backed Bush on this.

Yes. and our jobs are going to third world sweatshops at a pace like never before! Things are going great, and they're only getting better. I'm doing all right, getting good grades, the future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.

Thanks Desh, this has really cheered me up! All I can say is that if you are right (and I do know others who believe this is exactly what's coming down) I probably will be in jail for Christmas.

But, I am a little more optimistic. We will see.

Im trying to not get too depressed by it but man its hard sometimes.

I have a 19 year old son and I really fear for his future.

I hope so badly I am wrong about this mess.
