Too bad the US can't waterboard these fools anymore.

You'd like domestic law enforcement to be able to waterboard anyone they grab off the street who they think looks "suspicious"?

What a wonderfully free country that would be.

It is a bit premature to assume that this guy is guilty of anything other than watching the end of a race and running after a bomb went off. Waterboarding wouldn't even have been an option at this point even when we used it.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

Don't try and lecture me on freedom, you liberal piece of shit. Your side of the spectrum hates every aspect of it. Aside from the self-serving approach, of course.

Perhaps. I'm not surprised at who they nabbed first, however.

Deemed suspicious by a lumbering redneck because he was seen running AWAY from the HUGE EXPLOSION that had just occurred.

    Sure seems suspicious to me!
What kind of country have we become?

One in which federal prosecutors can take “evidence” before a “grand jury,”

and that grand jury can “vote to indict” a former president for 91 alleged “crimes”?

It happens so often that it is so clearly the same thing and just a magnificent analogy. Nobody here knows why the guy may be a "person of interest" so we should assume it was because of breathing heavily after running away from an explosion while being Middle Eastern...

Doesn't that just roll off the tongue?

I'm much more about freedom than you are. I believe in the right of 2 consenting adults to get married. I believe that plants that grow naturally in the ground should not be restricted. I believe that countries should have self-determination and not be forced into situations by our military. I believe in programs like Head Start that provide a more level playing field and better opportunity for those who are disadvantaged. And I certainly believe in our right to walk down the street without being waterboarded because of a trumped-up feeling of "suspicion."

I sometimes wonder if conservatives really understand the concept of freedom.

So, if someone (like me) said that you have been making suspicious posts on this board, you'd be A-OK with the FBI (or anyone) waterboarding you?
