Default College football gets a 4 team playoff!

I can't wait! We are finally closer to determining a true champion on the field.

The details of the selection committee haven't been ironed out, but hopefully it will be something equitable.

    This is better!
An Egyptian writer, Ptah Hotep, put patriarchal beliefs as clearly as
anyone in the early civilizations: "If you are a man of note, found for
yourself a household, and love your wife at home, as it beseems. Fill her
belly, clothe her back. . . . But hold her back from getting the mastery.
Remember that her eye is her stormwind, and her vulva and mouth are her
    strength."

Thank god they went with a selection committe since most sports writers who make up the polls are blythering idiots.

There are a few sports writers that know what they are doing, but they are few and far between.

When does OSU come off probation? I am betting they will be in contention most years. I'd rather have an 8 or 16 team playoff, but this is certainly an improvement over the BCS.

Next year. When the playoff starts. My guess is that by 2020 we'll have an 8 team playoff. When the conferences see the kind of media exposure that the 4 playoff teams are getting they'll demand expansion. Baby steps, baby steps.

Yeah, I'm sure we will hear that. But then, we'll hear "Team number 17 was better!" if we get to a 16 team playoff too.

Don't go to 8. The BCS is a beautiful thing. Any more than 4 Mae the regular season shit. Now every game is still a payoff game.
Chris: I volunteered. I dropped out of college, told 'em I wanted the infantry, combat, Vietnam.
Crawford: You volunteered for this shit, man?
    C Believe that?
K You's a crazy fucker, giving up college?
    C Didn't make much sense, I wasn't learning anything
k Oh, I see, what we got here is a crusader.
    C Sounds like it.
K Shiiit, you gotta be rich in the first place to think like that. Ever'body know, the poor are always being fucked over by the rich. Always have, always will.

That's a bogus argument and it's been put to bed. The regular season is going to be all about winning your conference now and that's the way it oughta be. That's why I think you see further consolidation of conferences. Eventually we'll have a 8 team playoff with 6 conference champs and two at large bids to make the lesser conferences happy. That will put the focus where it should always be. Winning your conference. The BCS marginlizes conference play. Lose two games but win your conference? Who cares, you're out of the BCS Championship picture. Now winning your conference is going to mean something.

With 126 teams playing, I think the regular season will still mean something whether we have a 4 team or an 8 team playoff.

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
    - -- Aristotle

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.
