Default Should people be allowed to carry handguns openly?

hell yes, it is an actual right, after all. But on with the debate. Note the anti gunners lack of facts, but heavy on emotional argument.

Sure, just don't be surprised when the cops ask you why you're carrying them and ask to see a registration. If you're good with that, sure, carry your gun.

States that have registration rarely issue cards.

I know of no state that licenses or issues open carry permits that doesn't also issue a card. It is certainly within my right as a citizen to demand that I can be certain when I might see an open carrier that they have been through minimum safety in firearms training and checked out for non-felon status and mental stability purposes. There are certain people that have no rights whatsoever to carry or even own whether openly or not and the rest of us have a right to know about it.

Arizona has no such requirement and law abiding citizens can now carry concealed, without being issued a permit card.
So your desire to know anything, means nothing.

All that's required is for the law abiding citizen to answer truthfully, when asked if he or she has any weapons with them.

    I love AZ.

What do you want to bet that if one were to get pulled over for speeding in Arizona and the occifer found a pistol in the pocket of the speeder that individual would learn first hand how it feels to be face down on a Arizona highway? Law abiding citizen my ass.

You carry a gun, everyone else starts carrying, and the banks hire a bunch more security guards. MORE JOBS FOR AMERICA.

    1) if it's a 'right' to carry, why would the cops be asking any questions?
    2) do you know the requirements for a police officer to begin an investigation?

Not a big fan of open carry.

I often wonder how the 2nd amendment would have been written if they could se the world as it is today.

having read the founders documents, debates, commentaries, and other assorted statements, they probably would have written it to add 'under no circumstances whatsoever, shall any level of government attempt to restrict or regulate the carrying of firearms by the citizens of the united states of america'
