It does seem to be a trend, lately.
An Egyptian writer, Ptah Hotep, put patriarchal beliefs as clearly as
anyone in the early civilizations: "If you are a man of note, found for
yourself a household, and love your wife at home, as it beseems. Fill her
belly, clothe her back. . . . But hold her back from getting the mastery.
Remember that her eye is her stormwind, and her vulva and mouth are her
    strength."

Don't they usually state who did the survey?

You do realize the tax swap idea in that article would be regressive overall???

They use mean annual and five year means in trend analysis. Don't tell me I have to explain the difference to you. "

    1) They should not govern by survey
    2) In this case, they most certainly should not

    for:

    a) The tax swap idea is regressive
    b) The survey doesn't seem to tell people that it is easy to say 'reduce the use of nuclear, coal, nat gas', there are no other viable options at this time unless everyone is also ok with dramatic increases in their energy/fuel bills.

Well then why do we vote. Why do we elect people because they represent our views? Why not just have a lottery.

so laws should be passed based on surveys? sorry pal....that is not how our republic works and for good reason. imagine if we ran our government based on polls or surveys.

i find it interesting that the same libs who were so happy obamacare passed into law....ignored the fact that most polls showed americans did not want the law. so in essence, using their logic here, congress ignored voters, but that is ok as long as their agenda gets passed.

i find it troubling this notion that polls or surveys should heavily influence our reps to the point where they vote solely on polls.

nothing seems to impress our politicians except their political parties and big donors

Yeah, voters wanted Medicare for all, the Congress and Obama compromised and gave us a version of Romneycare
