Thread: Is Newt the choice of the immoral majority of the GOP?

Question Is Newt the choice of the immoral majority of the GOP?

Ron Paul's offensive against Gingrich is perfectly timed and could be highly effective because Paul's message is correct and he is a powerfully effective messenger with credibility.

The notion that Newt Gingrich can say that supporters of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac should go to jail, after Gingrich took more than $1.5 million of Freddie Mac money, is in my view so morally revolting that it makes Gingrich unfit for the presidency.

Is Obama the choice of the sleazy slimy Marxists who are occupying the streets with their filthy stinky shitty asses?

Gingrich didn't TAKE any money from freddie/fannie. His business was paid consulting fees. Being paid for a service is not "taking". Lying sack of shit.

The former House speaker said he didn’t know how much he had received from the federally backed mortgage company...

A Bloomberg News story disputed Gingrich’s account, saying that those familiar with Gingrich’s work don’t recall any warnings about the company’s business model—and that instead, his job was to rally support for Freddie Mac among Republicans in Washington.

In a follow-up story, Bloomberg reported that Gingrich’s ties to Freddie go back as far as 1999, soon after he left the House, and that he was consulted in the early days of the Bush administration on how to expland home ownership nationwide.

Newt Gingrich may have some explaining to do when it comes to his credit arrangement with Tiffany’s: at least as of 2011, the zero percent interest financing he said he received from the famously fancy jeweler doesn’t seem to exist.

A look at Tiffany’s current credit agreement shows that Tiffany’s extends credit only at credit-card-typical rates of 8 to 21 percent.

Generally, if there is any sort of zero percent promotion (no merchant would ever offer zero percent indefinitely) the merchant must make it clear in the credit terms.

Given that interest rates today are a good deal lower than they were in 2005 and 2006 and inflation is near nil, it would be odd if Tiffany’s offered interest free financing then but didn’t offer it now.

Provided Tiffany’s hasn’t ever offered interest free financing; there seem to be two choices neither of which look that good for Gingrich.

First, and most likely, Gingrich did indeed, receive zero percent credit but got it as a special favor from Tiffany’s higher-ups.

Although he wasn’t in public office at the time and getting special “celebrity” treatment wouldn’t violate any law, grubbing for favors from a fancy jewelry store doesn’t look very good for a person aspiring to become President.

Second, and more simply, Gingrich did pay interest and is lying ....

Pastor Cary Gordon is warning Christian voters not to trust Newt Gingrich.

Gordon, who leads the 1,000 member Cornerstone Church in Sioux City, Iowa, says he feels he must speak out against Gingrich because "he terrifies me" as a potential leader without a strong moral compass.

Gordon's press release also blasts the former House Speaker for dodging the Iowa Family Leader's Marriage Vow--a sweeping political pledge document that addresses adultery and fidelity, gay unions and health issues, fatherless children, U.S. monogamy and Islamist polygamy.

Currently married to Callista Bisek, Newt Gingrich has been married three times.

His two previous marriages ended in divorce after he had affairs with younger women...
