A Fort Campbell soldier who shot himself early Saturday morning following an 80-mile police pursuit into Georgia died Monday afternoon.

Spc. Rico L. Rawls Jr., 22, was pronounced dead at about 2 p.m. Monday, according to a news release Tuesday from Fort Campbell.

Rawls, who was identified as a 5th Special Forces Group soldier, was wanted in the death of his wife, Jessica T. Rawls, who was found dead of a gunshot wound Friday evening by Military Police responding to a domestic dispute in on-post housing, the release said.

The names of the two victims who were shot to death and found in a red Toyota Matrixwere confirmed by a Palm Beach County Sheriff's spokeswoman this morning.

Samantha McKenna, 34, of Palm Beach Gardens and Theodore Donohue, 45, of Hobe Sound, were found around 2 a.m. on in the Matrix, which was parked at the far end of the 6600 block of Fourth Street in suburban Jupiter.

McKenna and Donohue were found dead from multiple gunshot wounds...

Steve Williams, the park manager for Tenkiller State Park, Greenleaf State Park and Cherokee Landing State Park, died last Thursday evening at his home at Greenleaf after a gun he was cleaning accidentally went off.

The Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office received a call that Williams, 54, had gone to a back room to clean a gun when his wife reportedly heard a shot fired and said Williams came into the living room and collapsed.

A man who had been shot and apparently was driving himself to the hospital crashed his vehicle on Landover Road near the Baltimore Washington Parkway early this morning, county police said.


Police responded to a traffic stop about 3 a.m. to find the driver suffering from gunshot wounds.

At least six people have been wounded in shootings in Chicago since 7 this morning, police said.


A 20-year-old man came into Advocate Trinity Hospital about 7:20 a.m. with a gunshot wound to the thigh after being shot earlier in the 7500 block of South Kingston Avenue, said News Affairs Officer Robert Perez.


The man told police he was standing on a sidewalk on Kingston when a four-door, blue sedan drove quickly past and one of the three or four men inside fired shots at him, Perez said.


About 1:20 p.m., two men were shot in the 2400 block of West 34th Place, Perez said. A 26-year-old was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, and the other, 21, was taken to St. Anthony Hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh, police said.


The two were sitting in a parked minivan when someone approached the van on foot and started shooting at them. The shooter fled north on foot, police said.


About 1:30 p.m., three men were shot and went to South Shore Hospital after being attacked in the 2400 block of East 75th Street, police said. The shooting took place about a block from where the man was shot on Kingston Avenue earlier today.


An 18-year-old and 20-year-old were each shot in the foot and a 19-year-old was shot in the buttocks, police said. Police said the three were standing on a sidewalk when someone in a gray vehicle shot at them while the vehicle passed by.

Prince George’s County police say a man has been fatally injured in an apartment complex in District Heights.

Police say they were called to the 1600 block of Addison Road South for a report of the sound of gunshots about 8:15 p.m.
Tuesday.

Officers found a man with gunshot wounds and he was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Nicole Westbrook died of complications due to her gunshot wound at Harborview Medical Center after what police call a 'random' attack.


Police say Westbrook was walking home from a club Sunday morning with her boyfriend when shots were fired from a passing car.


Westbrook had moved to Seattle from Albuquerque three weeks ago to go to school.

The first shooting happened at 9:40 p.m. on the 2100 block of North Kilpatrick Avenue when a 20-year-old man sustained a gunshot wound, police said.

The man was on Kilpatrick when a man went up to him and began firing shots in his direction, police said.

The victim was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical center...

In one shooting, a 27-year-old woman was shot in the arm while she was walking in a commercial area.


In other incidents, bullets hit moving cars.

A convicted felon was arrested Thursday morning after sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a man and woman fighting, followed by a gunshot.


An official at Sempervirens Outdoor School called 911 around 10:30 a.m. after school employees heard the two arguing and then heard a single gunshot fired in the area next to the school, according to Sheriff's Sgt. Paul Tashiro.


Deputies contacted Jonas Adams, who was allegedly in an argument with Sherry Edwards.


He told deputies Edwards fired a shotgun once before he took the gun away and she left the property.


Edwards was found at a neighbor's home and was believed to be under the influence of a narcotic.

A woman died of gunshot wounds in northeast Houston Monday morning after running to a neighbor’s house for help.

The bleeding woman ran next door and banged on the door to plead for help.

The neighbor tried to help, but the armed suspect had followed the victim.

"Opened the door and she was right there bleeding, and fell on him," said Emma Badino.

"I guess he ran after her and he said, ‘Don’t touch her, leave her alone.’ And he hurried up and closed the door."

The suspect dragged the woman, his live-in girlfriend, back into his house where he shot her again...

A man fatally shot four people, including a toddler, at a home in a Phoenix suburb Wednesday before being found dead, authorities said.


Gilbert police said they weren't sure yet whether the man committed suicide, as the Associated Press had previously reported.


At a briefing for reporters, Gilbert police Sgt. Bill Balafas said all the evidence points to the shooting being a domestic violence situation. He didn't elaborate.


Authorities said the man was armed with several firearms, and officers recovered two handguns and a shotgun.

On Friday morning, police found 20-year-old Quinton Mann at a residence on Sherman Driver Circle with three gunshot wounds.



Mann was shot twice in the upper chest and once in the abdomen. Mann was taken to Shands Gainesville in serious condition.



Police then found a second victim nearly a block away from the home. Jessica Martinez, 29, was taken by rescue personnel to Shands Gainesville...
