So new I can't even find anything online yet. Apparently, NK is shelling a SK island on the western (disputed) border. One SK Marine is confirmed dead...several injured. SK President has called an emergency session.

I wonder why South Korea would stage military drills near a border that is under dispute? I suppose their way of thinking is should something happen they can always count on the US sending their young men and women to be slaughtered in a war.
Perhaps Obama needs to let the South Korean leaders know that if they deliberately antagonize the North and things escalate the US will hang the South out to dry, so to speak.
