Band arrested after blocking LA freeway to perform

LOS ANGELES – A rock band will have to face the music after blocking a Los Angeles freeway and performing atop its trailer. California Highway Patrol spokesman Rick Quintero said a big box van decorated with Imperial Stars' logo stopped on the southbound U.S. 101 near Sunset Boulevard at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, blocking four of the five lanes.

The driver took the keys and fled in another car, then three musicians climbed on top of the van and began to perform.

Quintero said they were arrested and the truck was finally towed away around noon after causing a mile-long traffic jam.

You may not know this Yurtsie, but an Ambulance comes with EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND SIRENS...meaning any Ambulance could EASILY get itself unstuck from any jam...after all, this was the 101 and not some dead end cul de sac.

You also might not know this Yurtsie, but I live in Houston, the 4th largest city in the country and am intimately acquainted with sitting in traffic...it's never bothered me before and it CERTAINLY wouldn't have bothered me if a free live music concert was included in my delay.

you've obviously never been in LA on the 101 with a mile long traffic jam....the amulance could not simply get out of the jam, in some spots the shoulders are not wide enough and even if the ambulance had to go on the shoulder their speed would be greatly reduced
