    are we a democracy or an oligarchy or a democratic republic on its way to becoming an oligarchy

    just as an fyi, republican fund raising by rove is raising about $2.4 million a month...of which over 90% is contributed by three billionaires

    thank you congress for failing to pass campaign reform that will get past the scotus

    We are an oligarchy. There is a revolving door of money and people between big business, government, and media. They all act in concert to opress the people and fix society in their favor.

    For instance, big business may bitch about having to comply with "insane labor standards" and "entitlements", but in the end, those compliance costs keep startups from even being able to startup and eat into their marketshare. Consider it the price of the security of cartel and monopoly.
