The Libertarian Party is poised to step up as the party that embraces the conservative values that existed before the republican party was hijacked by the religious right and other social conservatives.

It should be the party of choice for fiscal conservatives.

It sounds to me like he's just trying to find a republican figure that the majority of the country consider to be an imbecile and use his name to tarnish a political party. So pretty much what you said.

But seriously? Mott? I'm dissapointed by that statement, I normally think of him as someone well-informed, dispite the difference of oppinions.

Naa I'm serious. I don't disparage most Libertarian ideal but what I'm saying is true. As a political movement, as a political party what have they accomplished? Damned precious little and that's the honest to gods truth.

Someone please show me. What has the LP accomplished? Nobody seems to want to be bothered by that ugly fact.

The LP may talk a good game but they have a piss poor record of accomplishment. It's just all talk.

Notice the OP said nothing about the Libertarian Party. It's about Libertarian ideals. And with your comment about George W. being most sympathetic to libertarian ideals I don't think you really understand what they are.

You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence. CHARLES A. BEARD
