You need only reflect that one of the best ways to get yourself a reputation as a dangerous citizen these days is to go about repeating the very phrases which our founding fathers used in the struggle for independence. —CHARLES A. BEARD

    Obvious Troll is obvious.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
    - -- Aristotle

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

Which one? The troll, the Libertarian, or the kid getting pushed into the mud by a stuffed tiger?

Water, you would dig the 10th Anniversary Book of Calvin and Hobbes.

When I was your age () I read it, and it was just a comic book with all of Wattersons commentary and motivation behind some of the more epic cartoons, the one in this thread included.

Now I'm reading Watterson's bio, and its damned cool.

I have the first one. Even have an original copy (the news paper) of their last strip.

I remember reading the last two prints of Calvin & Hobbes in the Seattle Times. The second-to-last one had a battle map in the snow of how they were going to sled along a particular route picking off various characters with snowballs and eventually landing at a snow fort stocked with like a thousand balls. The commentary along with route was funny.

watterson is a extremely cool/odd dude. He described how he'd have a phase where he would make a bunch of paintings and then go burn them in a forrest
