FACT: Religious people are LESS intelligent, on average

Cliffnotes: Those that tend to have religious beliefs are on average, stupider and less intelligent people. Because they have inferior brains and IQ's, they are naturally drawn to mystical sky beings, much in the same way that they could stare at a carousel going around, mouth agape, for hours on end. Those that do not believe in god are SMARTER.

This is why stupid inferior primitive brains cannot grasp why the earth is older than 6000 years, or why the earth goes around the sun, or how evolution works, or that we didn't descend from corn, or why monkeys don't have a space program but humans do ( ) - It's because they are on average stupider, more primitive people.

As such, us intelligent people should remind ourselves of our inferior counterparts, and deal gently with them, as they do not have the same processing power as the rest of us more intelligent people.

Secondly, the authors investigated the link between religiosity and intelligence on a country level. Among the sample of 137 countries, only 23 (17%) had more than 20% of atheists, which constituted “virtually all the higher IQ countries.”

The authors reported a correlation of 0.60 between atheism rates and level of intelligence, which is “highly statistically significant.”

• Stupid, inferior brains are attracted to religion.
• Those that are less religious, also happen to be smarter. This is because SMART INTELLIGENT people, are more informed, and aren't attracted to silly fairy tales.
• Countries that have less believers in god, tend to be SMARTER.
• If you believe in god, you are VERY LIKELY to be a STUPIDER PERSON and have LOWER INTELLIGENCE.

This is not the first controversial survey done by the professor. He is maybe mostly known for his research results claiming that men have a higher IQ than women, and has for instance said to the Norwegian newspaper VG that stupid people should not get children.

There may be religious people who are smart, but you have done nothing to debunk the claim that the average religious person is dumber than the average atheist. It is a strawman.

what countries were the tested in? what was their socio-economic status? what religion?

the study is rather lacking in specifics....and the socio economic factor is a large factor, such that it could wipe out the whole theory
