“Citigroup CHARLIE RANGEL should have also been aware that corporate sponsorship of such an event was banned by House rules adopted on March 1, 2007, in response to the [lobbyist Jack] Abramoff scandal and the infamous golf trip to Scotland.”

    2. TAX EVASION...Charley Rangel (D)....investigated for tax fraud and tax evasion
$75,000: the amount of money that the head of the powerful tax-writing committee, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY), was forced to report on his taxes after the discovery that he had not reported income from a Costa Rican rental property. His excuses for the failure started with blaming his wife, then his accountant and finally the fact that he didn't speak Spanish.

    3. Tax evasion... Former Sen. Tom Daschle...,(D).... picked by President Barack Obama to lead his health reform efforts, recently filed amended tax returns to report $128,203 in unpaid taxes and $11,964 in interest, according to a Senate document obtained by The Associated Press.
$140,000: the amount of back taxes and interest that Cabinet nominee Tom Daschle (D) was forced to cough up after the vetting process revealed significant, unexplained tax liabilities.
$356,000: the approximate amount of income and deductions that Daschle (D) was forced to report on his amended 2005 and 2007 tax returns after being caught cheating on his taxes. This includes $255,256 for the use of a car service, $83,333 in unreported income, and $14,963 in charitable contributions.

    4. TAX EVASION....Timothy F. Geithner..(D)... At the Senate confirmation hearings, it was revealed through documentary evidence that Geithner had not paid $35,000 self-employment taxes for several years,[25] even though he had acknowledged his obligation to do so, and had filed a request for, and received, a payment for half the taxes owed. Still gets confirmed as Sec. of Treasury...

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner (the now internationally known IRS tax-cheat) is astounding, at the least.

    5. Sen. Dodd (D) caught in a sweetheart mortgage deal...........HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut Sen. Chris Dodd says he'll refinance two mortgages that he received through a VIP program from Countrywide Financial Corp. $800,000: the amount of "sweetheart" mortgages Senate Banking Chairman Chris Dodd (D-CT) received from Countrywide Financial, the details for which he has refused to release despite months of promises to do so. Countrywide was once the nation's largest mortgage lender and linked to Govern ment-Sponsored Entities like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Their meltdown precipitated the current financial crisis. Just days ago in Pennsylvania , Countrywide was forced to pay $150,000,000 in mortgage assistance following "a state investigation that concluded that Countrywide relaxed its underwriting standards to sell risky loans to consumers who did not understand them and could not afford them."
Dodd told reporters Monday that the mortgages for his homes in Washington and East Haddam, Conn., will be refinanced with a different company.
Dodd has acknowledged receiving mortgages in 2003 through a VIP program at Countrywide, which was sold to Bank of America Corp. earlier this year and has been the focus of allegations that it gave favorable loan terms to lawmakers. Dodd says he's moving the loans in part because he was wrongfully labeled a friend of Countrywide's former CEO, Angelo Mozilo. Dodd says he never sought special treatment.
Countrywide program that awarded special treatment to so-called friends of company CEO Angelo Mozilo.

    6. TAX EVASION... Nancy Killefer..(D) withdrew her candidacy to be the first chief performance officer for the federal government on Tuesday, saying she didn't want her bungling of payroll taxes on her household help to become a distraction for the Obama administration. Killefer was the second major nominee to withdraw. Within hours, former Sen. Tom Daschle also withdrew his nomination to be secretary of health and human services.
In a brief letter to President Barack Obama, Killefer, the 55-year-old executive with consulting giant McKinsey & Co., wrote that she had "come to realize in the current environment that my personal tax issue of D.C. unemployment tax could be used to create exactly the kind of distraction and delay" that must be avoided in responding to urgent economic problems. 7. TAX EVASION..... A Senate committee today abruptly canceled a session to consider President Obama's nomination of Rep. Hilda Solis (D) to be labor secretary in the wake of a report saying that her husband yesterday paid about $6,400 to settle tax liens against his business -- including liens that had been outstanding for as long as 16 years.
    http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/..._canceled.html

    8. TAX EVASION....Al Franken..(D).Last April, the California Tax Franchise Board revealed that Franken owed the state $5,800 in taxes, fines, and penalties because he did not file returns in 2003 through 2007. Franken then admitted that he owed more than $50,000 in back taxes to 17 states.
    http://www.newsmax.com/kessler/al_fr...06/179148.html

    9. TAX EVASION.... Marion Barry (D).... WASHINGTON (AP) - Prosecutors asked a federal judge Monday to send former Washington mayor Marion Barry to jail for failing to file his tax returns for the eighth time in nine years. In a motion filed in U.S. District Court, Assistant U.S. Attorney Tom Zeno said Barry, who's also a current District of Columbia Council member did not file his taxes in 2007, violating his probation for previous tax offenses.

    10. TAX EVASION....Rahm Emanuel....Emanuel's Rent-Free Apartment Another Potential Tax Headache for Obama Administration
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel lived rent-free for five years in a Capitol Hill apartment owned by fellow representative Rose DeLauro (D-CT), he stated last week. While the arrangement apparently does not run afoul of House ethics rules, questions are being raised about whether either Emanuel or DeLauro, who is married to Democratic pollster Stanley Greenburg, reported the arrangement to Congress. In addition, Emanuel may not have reported the imputed imputed income he received in the form of the free lodging on his personal income taxes.

    11. TAX EVASION.....Ron Kiric.....forced to pay approx. $10,000 in back taxes...

    12. GENERAL CROOK...Bill Richardson ...... Richardson withdrew in January, 2009 amid a grand jury investigation into a state contract awarded to his political donors.

    13. TAX ISSUES.....$7800 owed in taxes. Kathleen Sebelius, President Obama's nominee to become Health and Human Services secretary, said in a letter obtained by the Associated Press that she made "unintentional errors" on her taxes
After researching the names, I found three that reflect poorly on Obama: Geithner, Kirk, Sebelius. Malkin is reaching to find a smaller degree of separation than actually exists among Obama and most of those named. Many of them had issues dating back decades yet she's trying to connect them, however tenuously, with Obama. I call BS.

See comments below for the rest.

Geithner: All true. Paid up back taxes.

Kirk: Kirk's errors involved honoraria from speeches, on which he should have paid taxes; the cost of sports games, for which he deducted too much; and improper treatment of accounting fees on his income taxes. Kirk has agreed to file amended returns.

Sebelius: All true. Paid up back taxes.

Daschle: Offered the position of Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services after the 2008 election. He was President Barack Obama's nominee to serve as the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) in Obama's Cabinet,[2] but withdrew his name on February 3, 2009 amid a growing controversy over his failure to accurately report and pay income taxes.[3] Hasn't held public office in almost 5 years. How does this reflect on Obama?

Dodd: Controversies started in 2003 under bush administration. On August 7, 2009, Senator Dodd was cleared of any wrongdoing by the Senate Ethics Committee.[37] According to the Boston Globe, "The Select Committee on Ethics told the Connecticut Democrat in a letter that after a yearlong investigation, it found "no substantial credible evidence" that his Countrywide mortgages in 2003, refinancing his home in Connecticut and another residence in Washington, broke Senate gift rules." How does this reflect on Obama?

Emanuel: Jan Baran, a Washington ethics lawyer who advises mostly Republicans, said Emanuel's use of the room from DeLauro and Greenberg does not violate House ethics rules since members clearly are allowed to give each other gifts of lodging.Joseph Dodge, a professor at Florida State University College of Law, argued that the room is not subject to tax either as a gift or as income. It's not a gift because it doesn't effectively cost DeLauro and Greenberg anything, Dodge said.
Nor would it be taxable as income to Emanuel because of the couple's motive in making the room available, "which would be friendship or generosity," Dodge said. Where's the crime?

Franken: Tax issues began in 2002. Franken added that he will seek retroactive credit from the states where he paid income tax that should have been paid in these 17 states. How does this reflect on Obama?

Killefer: ... Failed to pay employment taxes on household help for a year and a half, the Associated Press reported. In 2005, the AP said, the District of Columbia filed a $946.69 tax lien on her home for failure to pay the unemployment compensation tax. The error was resolved five months later. Nominated to position but withdrew. Not holding public office. How does this reflect on Obama?

Rangel: 1)Caribbean junket still under investigation by house ethics committee. 2)Rangel's wheelings and dealings began in the '70's, 30 yrs ago. Investigations started by ethics committee in 7/2008 during bush administration, various outcomes. Why does all of this reflect on Obama and not on bush or 4 other presidents?

Richardson: Grand jury investigation began in 2008, Richardson was cleared. "New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and former high-ranking members of his administration won't be criminally charged in a yearlong federal investigation into pay-to-play allegations involving one of the Democratic governor's large political donors, someone familiar with the case said." Never became a member of the administration so how does this reflect on Obama?

Solis: Solis and husband Sam Sayyad file taxes separately. Her tax returns were investigated and found to be in order Why does his lien make her a crook? How does Sayyad's tax evasion reflect on Obama?

I like Nostradamus better, I can write nonsense quatrains that people will use to "predict" the future for generations too.... I'd do it if I could make money on it right now rather than some idiot buying it 400 years after I died...

And I am waaay better than Kreskin...
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.
    - -- Aristotle

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

Kreskin, that's perfect. I was only coming up with women, like Sylvia Browne, Jean Dixon and Joan Quigley.

You know Damocles holds libs to a different standard. The statute of posting limitations runs only a few hours for us. Forget actually researching the names, something the OP didn't do. Next time I'll cram all night before the test.
