Hope is the only reason I can look at our political process and not decide to move to another country.

I can't argue with that .. especially in these times .. but hope is the mechanism of last resort and usually comes when we run out of the courage to change our condition.

Perhaps if I had your belief in hope, I'd feel better about our condition.

In America, rights are are not determined by what is just, fair, equitable, honest, nor by what Jesus would do. Rights are determined ONLY by what you can DEMAND.

It was a joke. Don't socialists have a sense of humor?

    Let me guess...

    Um... Not me.

Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

"Humor" is a totally captitalist concept .. probably invented by white people.

    Thus, I don't do humor.

I heard that humor, like most other cool shit, was invented by black folks and then co-opted by white people. Think about it, "lighten up." What the f*ck is that? Nothing but white folks trying to take the black out of humor.
