A quick comment to the American electorate:
"Told ya so"
I guess this has probably already been posted and I missed it, buried within all of the racist hysteria posts. I wonder if this is why we are being bombarded with anti-Obama posts? Like cats, they are trying to cover up their own crap.

"Told ya so"
Wow, you are late. I posted on this last night.
Excellence is an art won by training and habituation. We do not act rightly because we have virtue or excellence, but rather we have those because we have acted rightly. We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act but a habit.

Believe nothing on the faith of traditions, even though they have been held in honor for many generations and in diverse places. Do not believe a thing because many people speak of it. Do not believe on the faith of the sages of the past. Do not believe what you yourself have imagined, persuading yourself that a God inspires you. Believe nothing on the sole authority of your masters and priests. After examination, believe what you yourself have tested and found to be reasonable, and conform your conduct thereto.

cue the: "But, but, but....Jimmy Carter was worse" baloney.
You know what the hilarious thing is? In the past 18 months, almost every republican that has had the balls to discuss bush has claimed that they never really liked bush, that they knew he kinda sucked, and they just had to hold their nose and vote for him to keep socialists like kerry and gore out.
And yet, if you look at the poll numbers from 2001 to about 2006, Bush job approval numbers among republicans was consistently in the 80 to 90% range. The vast majority thought he was doing a good job.
Methinks there's a lot of historical revisionism going on.

Anyway, as I said last night, on the thread with basically the same title.
It is my theory that this will continue as it is no longer something to fear to say you dislike Bush in R circles...

Remember when the subtext was that because Bush is popular he must be right.

We shall have a humble foreign policy.

LOL, yeah the uniter rhetoric. One more reason why I speak of republicanspeak as being 180 deg. out of phase with truth.
Lets not forget that we should not be the police force of the world or into nation building ...
Or balanced budget.
Yup.
All things I supported that went awry after "9-11 changed everything"....
*sigh*
And the reason I didn't vote for Bush again. That and my total discomfort at having the NSA listen to conversations where domestic parties might be involved. This was so ingrained in me to avoid that crap when I was there, it almost made me physically ill when I saw that. I can't imagine the people there and how they felt.
