How long of a Holiday are you on Charver? Come back and write one of your song posts?
  4. I know that I perhaps don't have much of a place to hold an opinion here, not being European, but I've always been a bit of a "europhile". I thought the EU was a noble experiment - the first time in history that different nationalizes were dropping their own individual interests coming together and cooperating together for the common good, perhaps building something that can compete with China and American in the 21st century. It's was also rather good to see that you guys seemed to be getting along now, keeping in mind a couple of rather messy incidents that occurred there in the early and mid 20th century. But, it was perhaps a bit too idealistic to think that it could occur without corporations hijacking the process for their own benefit, or people fucking up and getting resentful of each other. As it is, even the limited concept of the EU as just a nice free trade and visa free movement area is under question.
  5. The only way to ensure that you will turn into Greece is to cut lots and lots of stuff. Besides, the UK is a bit lucky here in that it's not part of the Eurozone. The Euro was great when times were good; now that they're not, weaknesses in the system are showing themselves. When you share a currency across a region, but don't have a strong centralized government, individual bad actors can screw things up for everybody. But because the UK isn't party to the Euro, it doesn't have to plan its economy with Germany in mind. Besides, the debt situation isn't nearly as bad in the UK as it was in Greece or Ireland, and people are gobbling up treasury securities like mad. If my credit were truly bad, I wouldn't expect people to be desperately banging at my door to grant my request for loans, secured by nothing more than my promise to pay them back, at 1% interest rates.

  6. Incredibly, we're doing better than you guys. Too bad your election had to come so soon, eh?

  10. Phone hacking and bribing people to stay silent about it? Sounds about par for course.

Good Morning.

Right, stop your gawping. If you're staying take off your coat, sit yourself down in the corner and quit your jibber-jabbering for five blessed minutes. It's a while since i last had a dalliance with this blog bidness, so do excuse the general untidiness. I trust you've all availed yourself of the facilities because i'm not having anyone get up for a piss half way through. Understand? Good.

In these straightened times of mass unemployment, fiscal turmoil

Of Mice And Men, And Tyrants

Good Day to you, the visitor.

I'm a little surprised you bothered to come back. Even i admit that i offer a shoddy standard of service but then again what the hell do you people expect? Take it up with the organ grinder not the monkey. Please don't ask why they call him that. He scares me. You wouldn't much like it being stuck down here in Mr Damocles' internet-enabled well, either. There used to be six of us but their output dropped and, one by one, they disappeared during the notorious

Hello!? Hello...is this thing on?

Ah, right. I have no idea what i'm doing here and depending on the level of trauma suffered during this process i may never do it again. Some of you people may have seen these new-fangled 'blog' things on the internets before. Usually it appears to be a rather tedious account of everything that person has managed to pack into their oh-so-hectic day during the previous 24 hour period.

As much as i'd like to constantly relay to you my
