"One of the things about Herman Cain is, I think that he makes that white Republican base of the party feel okay, feel like they are not racist because they can like this guy," Finney said. "I think he giving that base a free pass. And I think they like him because they think he's a black man who knows his place. I know that's harsh, but that's how it sure seems to me."

"Thank you for spelling that out," Bashir responded.

The liberal white democrats are very afraid of Herman Cain, not the typical black man that requires the government to feed, shelter and clothe him. They are afraid it might start a trend and then where will they be??

Exactly. Good post.

is this a true statement? is this racist?

So the logic is this: I'm a racist because I don't like The Obama, and I'm a racist because I like Cain.

Apparently his "place" is at the head of a large field of candidates for President of the United States of America. I'm pretty sure he likes that place.

That the "left" would decide that it is a menial position where only those who "know their place" can participate is incredible.

To use it as some form of evidence that others are racist because they would vote for a black man is astounding...

Remember back in the day when many thought that Obama would be assassinated just because he was black? Both Desh and Darla brought it up on this site alone. Now it seems as if it is possible that we may have two black men running against each other for President of the United States and the left wants us to believe that it is "racism" that made it possible.

Absolutely incredible.

What Herman Cain's candidacy has made more clear then any other instance of bigotry ever has, is that it is liberals' who see human beings through the lens of race and color- not conservatives. Their ugliness in this regard knows no bounds- it is utterly disgusting. Herman Cain with the love and help of his family, rose up during a truly difficult time in our country for a man of color, and he made a success of his life. Yet all these elite liberal assholes mock him; demean his world view; his success; and attack his authenticity.

These same assholes called any conservative, racist, if they attacked policy... actual fucking policy... that a liberal Obama proposed.

It many "seem" possible, but it is not. As it stands right now, Mitt beats Cain, and I don't see that changing.

Well, it's clear the truth is not within you. Let me address your concerns. The left has decided nothing. The left is the left, and will continue to be. That the right would conveniently find a negro, who for all practical purposes, if we close our eyes and skew our ears, would sound exactly like any of the other white candidates running for the nomination. Telling, indeed. Completely forgetting the fact that if not all, then some of the Republican Party is either throwing Obama and his initiatives "under the proverbial bus" or obstructing and undermining his presidency for personal reasons (i.e. "he's a liberal black, and therefore party to the"imagined" Democratic line of "handouts for the able-bodied" and welfare monies for all"....he's a socialist/Nazi/Marxist/Communist/Muslim who is catering to the Arab World, and can't wait to impose Sharia Law on unwitting Americans...he's illegitimate, not a bona fide citizen, etc.....)
Oh, but the right's embracing of Herman Cain ( who is doing nothing more that "toting the white Republican man's water", like a good slave, and talking the lingo), somehow, means that all the racist and bigoted rhetoric aimed at Obama, then and now, is forgiven, as they have come to their senses, and found their "great white hope" in a Stephin Fetchit negro, who will do as he is told (undoubtedly, by the Koch Bros., the RNC, and Big Business) and not appear as a rogue or a maverick, or worse, catering to the common people. Bull to the shit.
Are you so blind? Do you think the left is so stupid as not to see what is going on?
And what are you talking about? Reports have it that Obama has more assassination threats against him that any president in memory or history.
You can deny the machinations, manipulations, the "new lows" and the racism of the right, but there is ample documentation, in all forms of media and communication to verify the truth. Denial ain't a river up in Egypt. And there is trouble in River City.

No liberal is attacking Cain the man. We are attacking his simplistic flat tax, as it well deserves. Another ID lie.

And you're a lying bitch. The left has never tried to smear a presidential candidates to the extent that the right has. Never. Attacking his family, his race, his schooling, his upbringing, his credentials, his youthful mistakes, his smarts, his integrity, his motivation, and each and every accomplishment. It's people like you that have made me ashamed to call myself an American.
That you would pretend to denounce your racism and bigotry for purely ideological reasons, means you have no conscience, integrity, morals, or scruples.

Let me translate this into "sane"...

That the right would find a candidate who believes as they do and stands for the same things is not that surprising. That he happens to be black is something pretty much only the left dwells on with such incredible claims as "they are racist because they'll vote for him".

What his candidacy has done is underline solely one thing. If a black man thinks differently than African-Americans on the left, he is rejected because of his color by the left in a more virulent manner than any white candidate would be.

Because of his color the left hates him more than any white in the same position.

Absolutely ridiculous, you just ignore the OP to pretend that everybody on the left attacks his tax plan and not the person, using him as an excuse to continue to promote the idea of racism among "them". It's just a weird twisted version of racism where voting for a black man means you hate black men...

Are you crazy? The Republican Platform hasn't changed since Ronald Reagan....who is revered as a demi-god. The party platform was racist and bigoted back then...it still is today.
Why do you suppose the Republican Party is referred to as "the white party"???? Where are the faces of diversity in it? I'll wait.
That they found a black candidate who completely ignores the fact that the party could care less about him as black man in America, than it does about pushing their agenda, speaks volumes.
And you're damned straight. How could any self-respecting, thinking, intelligent black person embrace the Republican Party (much less the Tea Party) and its' platform?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
And you're crazy. The left doesn't hate him...the left, collectively, hopes that he gets the nomination. Blacks hate him. Overwhelmingly. For selling us, again, down the river. Metaphorically, figuratively, and literally.

Then explain Obama's success with white voters in 2008? Was that, in fact, racism in effect? You're absolutely ridiculous.
