Jail/prison is not a safe place.

Besides, Trump is guarded by secret service and they overrule any prison policy which would make it a nightmare for them.

Trump could never be handcuffed, he couldn't eat the prison food because it's prepared by prisoners, they couldn't order him to do anything if the SS thought it was a risk.

What is the point of even being in there?

IF the SS says Trump needs to get out of his cell it would have to happen.

Not sure who would run the detention though since it can't really be the Secret Service.

House arrest means people are usually just monitored but felony convictions requiring hard time are a different matter.

I imagine whatever prison is close by will assign a team to Trump.

But yes, a president will never actually serve physical time in an actual prison.

Lots of firsts in this whole issue that's for sure.

None of his charges fall under the death penalty as much as you would like to kill him it's not going to happen.

In some form I agree.

Even if it's home arrest I'm sure it won't be pleasant, he would still be under the same rules he would be in prison.

The limited phone calls, limited visitation and things like that.

They would probably even remove his television and internet capabilities except for certain times.

He would probably only be let out in his yard periodically for some exercise.

Even his meals would be dictated to him, he couldn't order out for steak every night.

They would probably vet a chef to prepare the equivalent of prison food for him.

His showers would be limited.

It would be the same as prison just without the risk.
