The entire concept of commemorative holidays on the national level is, in my view, obsolete.
Labor needs to negotiate for more personal days and vacation days, not holidays.
Various ethnic groups could designate certain holiday festivals among themselves and use their extra vacation days to enjoy them.
We're too diverse to have national holidays.
