I'll be voting Libertarian...

Show me a libertarian that stands a chance and I’m in lol.

Pro-anti-racism is a deal breaker with me though.

Right now they don't have much of one which is why they have a lot of work to do. As a lifelong Republican I understand the differences between Democrats and Republicans yet with that there is also a lot similar between the two groups and thus if you want change continuing to vote for them isn't going to bring it. So I see why Libertarians and others vote the way they do.

This may not be apt analogy but I'll offer it nonetheless. Being a Republican in San Francisco is equivalent to being a Libertarian nationally. We have almost zero candidates and the ones that do get almost no votes. So my alternatives, when voting for Mayor, are the "moderate" Democrat or the progressive/Green Democrat. Now I've chosen to vote for the "moderate" one and have thus voted for the last five winning Mayors. This is the definition of "the lessor of two evils". But by voting for these people I'm contributing to everything wrong with the City. So I totally understand why people tire of voting for Democrats and Republicans because I am tired of voting for these awful Mayors.

I do, I do not want Trump to be President more than anything. I have to in good conscience vote for Biden to deny Trump a second term. I could not sleep at night knowing my vote helped place him in office.

I fully support your right to vote for whomever you please. The problem I have are those seeking to force or bully others into voting their way.

If it was very, very low how comes she won the popular vote with a high turn out (by American standards)?

Because California is the most populous state in the US. Even so, as proved ad nauseum, even many Democrats dislike her. One reason she lost is because too many Democrats in key states stayed home....which may be the same reason why Trump loses in November: too many disgusted Republicans stay home.

Oh I know, which is why I often refer to libertarians as, liberal-tarians. But I still will never understand how voting for candidates with absolutely zero chance of ever winning does anyone any good. There's a reason libertarian candidates never garner widespread support.

Libertarians often defend their voting practices by saying "but I have to vote my conscience man". Really? Your conscience tells you to vote for people who can never win?

The alternative in our two party system if you're not happy is to 'stay home', i.e. not vote for President. There are Republicans/conservatives on this board who have said they stayed home and didn't vote for McCain or Romney. Libertarians don't seem to do a good people of rallying disaffected people to their party but nonetheless I understand why people continue to vote for and support the party. It isn't growing over night but at some point enough people might have enough of the D's & R's and look elsewhere. Libertarians will be waiting. (i'm not holding my breath on this but just stating why people continue to support the party and vote for their candidates even if they aren't winning today)

Trump is as evil as I have experienced in my life.

There's no such thing as "evil". It's not a force. It's like cold, which is merely the absence of heat. "Evil" is just the lack of goodness...and, yes, Trump is a selfish asshole who lacks goodness...but he's mentally ill soooooo......

It's the "D" vs. the "R". Regardless who wins, there's a damn good chance neither of them will be around for the 2024 election. :)

I know what evil is. Next.

Pro-anti-racism is a deal breaker with me though.

I only saw the one tweet from Jo (the Libertarian candidate) supporting the pro anti-racism movement. At some point here I will research that further because as stated previously, according to Ibram Kendi who is the author of How To Be An Anti-Racist, a lot of what Libertarians support would be considered racist so it makes no sense.

I see you've been called a racist ITT for not supporting Kendi. So typical. White liberals, whom themselves are racist according to the anti-racist movement, love calling others racist.

exceptions to the rule. Perot had a message of fiscal responsibility. Nader a long time consumerist (populist).

What was Gary Johnson's message? or the current dweeb? nobody knows or cares

Looking back, If I could have my vote back in '92, I'd vote for Perot. He's the only candidate I can remember in my lifetime who made fiscal responsibility the primary issue.

Staying home is just as stupid as voting libertarian. How lo

They may have been exceptions but they did have a significant political influence so it wasn’t a wasted vote.
once in a blue moon..and I confess to voting G. Johnson in '12.
Back when I thought the Dems were still sane, but refused to vote for Obama because of Libya

Now we know the Dems are crazed radicals, and their coalition power is with AOC and the Squad.
There is no more room for self satisfying votes .pick a side

Since when has EITHER party not had elements that were more on the radical end of the spectrum?

Every election it's the same scare tactics. Biden is as middle-of-the-road as a candidate can get.

come to think of it I did vote for him/ i severely hate the duopoly - it only serves itself -not the public.

-which is also (among the reasons) why I voted for Trump
to weaken the establishment...man I had no idea though just how fierce Swamp Critters are!
