"Trump claims picture ID is required to buy groceries"

I have never been asked to show ID when using a credit card or debit card. And certainly not when spending cash.

Trump is a dolt and the turd polishers trying to pretend this is anything but stupid are even worse

No one ever asks for an ID. They don't even ID me at my favorite liquor store. The only time you rarely get asked for an ID with groceries is when the credit card name on the back is missing, or faded into being unrecognizable. Besides close to half of groceries, tend to go through something called self checkout these days. Why can't the right ever admit Trump said something loony, and stupid. It's why you have no legitimacy if you brown nose like that. Any human should know some of what he has said is unmistakable bullshit. Defending it devolves them.

I could care less what Trump said. This is not about defending him. It is about keeping some way out on the fringe here somewhat in touch with reality.

Where do you live that they ask for ID for groceries? They don't even do it when you're visiting other countries like Canada, or Italy. If you're paying cash, they wouldn't even consider it, unless you buy alcohol. Even buying alcohol I haven't been checked for ID at some box stores, using credit. Maybe if you do the archaic of a check they might, but who does that?

Me. Not on my personal account except to pay bills, but on my business accounts I do it regularly. Wrote two today. Was ID'd by Lowe's but not by Walmart. Walmart ID's me whenever the register tells them to which is about once every 3 months. Target does it every single time but I am boycotting them because they pissed me off about 6 months ago.
 
I am not going to read this whole thread...but I bet the Trumpsters are saying they always show their ID's for groceries. Alternate reality.

My mother pays everything by check, she won't let me buy her a computer. I pay my car ins. by check, I drop it off on my way home from work. Also my local, school and state taxes (grrr!) too.

Think he's talking about how stores are supposed to compare your credit card with ID. They used to do it a lot, not so much anymore.

Point was, why do you need an ID to buy alcohol, fly on a plane, etc; to prove who you are, but not to vote?
